Thunder can’t win in the playoffs because they are young?

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been far and away the surprise of the NBA season.  Lead by a top five player talent in Durant and a young Russel Westbrook running the point, the Thunder are currently 6th in the West with a 36-23 record, just three games back from second place Dallas.  So why is it that everyone is writing off one of the most exciting, talented, and young teams and announcing their playoff exit already?  Because they are young.  It seems like everyone who has an opinion and a camera in front of them “knows” that the Thunder are too young to beat anyone in the playoffs.  Is this true.  Is it impossible for a young team without playoff experience to win in the playoffs?

Yes I know that having vets that have been in the playoffs before is a nice little icing on the cake.  But no matter how you slice it, basketball is basketball.  The court is the same, the rules are the same, and the players are the same.  Unless the Thunder are full of guys who get panic attacks in big situations, I think they should be all set.  Yes they might not win their first round playoff series but it won’t be because of what their licenses say next to DOB, but because they meet a very talented Nuggets or Jazz team.
